Laboratory and techniques
The lost wax technique has been known since ancient times.
In the world of jewelry, the model is made of wax.
Then the inlet/outlet channels are added (always in wax) and the plaster mold specifically designed for this operation is created, it is heated in an oven, so that the wax comes out of the channels and it is therefore possible to pour inside of the mold the molten metal.
After the metal cast inside the mold has solidified, the plaster is broken and the various objects are separated from the central channel by means of a cutter or a goldsmith's saw. The entry/exit channels are also eliminated.
At this point the jewels can be finished by polishing or other processes until the final jewel is obtained.
